Anthony Leonard Conticello

Mr. Conticello received his B.A. with Honors from the University of Florida in 1994, and graduated with his J.D. from the University of Florida, School of Law, in 1997. He has been practicing law in Florida for 22 years.

Mr. Conticello began his legal career in the commercial litigation section of a full-service law firm, where he quickly began litigating and trying complex cases. Mr. Conticello worked mainly for Plaintiffs taking on large and small litigation matters, including a class action lawsuit against the PGA of America, coverage lawsuits against insurance carriers, unfair and deceptive trade practice lawsuits against car dealerships, and security fraud matters against large financial firms. At the same time, he was serving as the Assistant Town Attorney for a local governmental entity. In this capacity, Mr. Conticello dealt with Sunshine Law compliance, ordinance drafting, and providing advice to the Town’s Council members. In 2001, Mr. Conticello accepted a position at the Agency for Healthcare Administration as an Assistant General Counsel. There he served as lead trial counsel prosecuting complex Medicaid/Medicare overpayments against individual Medicaid providers, hospitals, and other facilities that routinely exceeded millions of dollars. Mr. Conticello was extremely successful in this capacity and the Agency expanded his role to include working on special projects, complex governmental procurement matters, and serving as lead counsel for the Agency on several multi-million dollar bid protests. In addition, Mr. Conticello handled Sunshine Law Compliance, regulatory matters, civil litigation, and bill analysis affecting the Agency. In late 2006, Mr. Conticello took the opportunity to become in-house counsel at Citizens’ Property Insurance Corporation. His primary tasks were to help establish and set up a new internal purchasing department, assist in all aspects of the procurement process including bid review, compliance with purchasing laws, and draft and negotiate a variety of complex contracts. In his 8 years as Senior Counsel, Mr. Conticello drafted and negotiated hundreds of contracts on a variety of subjects including technology-based (software license and implementation), professional services, business process outsourcing, reinsurance agreements, and many more. Mr. Conticello also was the primary attorney working with Citizens’ Financial Services department, was assigned to the due diligence legal team on multi-billion-dollar bond issuances, and was lead contract counsel on reinsurance purchase agreements valued in the hundreds of millions of dollars. In addition to these tasks, Mr. Conticello worked with Citizens’ internal staff to make sure they were maintaining compliance with Florida’s Sunshine laws, including public record requests and public meeting requirements. He provided advice and counsel on many official items of business that went before the Citizens’ politically appointed Board of Governors. While Mr. Conticello enjoyed the experience working in-house with the State Government and at Citizens, he is best suited for private practice where he can focus on helping people.  In fact, helping the little guy and the underdog, are two of the guiding principles he set when he opened Conticello P.A.

So if you have small business needs, a wage and hour dispute with your employer, need help understanding and navigating through complex healthcare rules and regulations, or need help with a public record dispute with a governmental entity, you should call Conticello, P.A. today and ask for Tony Conticello.
